In the effort to implement the UCSATP, Nakasongola District Local Government heavily participated in engagements for the roll out and implementation of key interventions of the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project – UCSATP. 

Awareness and training sessions were conducted in the 15 sub-counties and town-councils involving leaders of government and non-government institutions, farmers and representatives of special groups like PWDs, Women and youth.

284 farmer groups were mobilised and presented for verification. 156 farmer groups were approved to participate in UCSATP project interventions, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and enhance resilience to climate change. Trainings were conducted to 143 verified farmer groups from the 15 LLGs to enhance their capacity and skill in group administration, developing a business idea, assessing technical and financial feasibility of a business idea and developing a production, marketing and operation plan.
